Shame on Indian Cinema for ignoring the history of India in films!

Whenever i watch Chinese movies it does not escape my notice that most of them are historicals set in 1940s to back in upto 400 b.c.e. glorifying almost everything about Han China; even the civil wars are portrayed in a way where the characters antithetical to Han China always are defeated, squarely or morally. Also, hollywood even though based in america makes a lot of movies set in Europe/Middle-East based upon the european/judeo-christian mythologies/history/anecdotes. Also hollywood makes a lot of historicals set in the americas which mosly shows european settlers as rampaging outrageous dashing heroes or tenacious persevering self-sacrificing virtuous sublime masters. And to the utter shame of Indian cinema our filmmakers starightaway steer clear of any historical/epic/puranic movies when we have the biggest and most intriguing history and most heart-rendering as well as exciting stories in world to be told. Even when any historical is attempted its mostly hero-worship of the oppressors where the invaders are shown in the brightest and most glorious light like Sikandar-e-Azam and Mughal-e-Azam. There are practically negligible films even on the anti-British/anti-Colonial struggle and even those try to be ambivalent attempting to hide the warts of the oppressors. We can make movies on the glory of India like Harappa and Vedic era, Mahajanapadas, Mouryas, Shungas, Guptas, Chalukyas, Harshvardhan, Cholas(who seafared and conqured till what is now Phillipines)...the list is endless, i will not even have space to write! Or we can make cinema on our struggle against barbarian invaders where our tragic/victorious heroes were RajaDahir, Jayapala,Trilochanapala, Bappa Rawal, Mihir Bhoja, Prithviraj Chouhan, Hemraj Bhargava, Rana Hammir, Rana Sanga, Rana Pratap,Lachit Barphukan, Vir Shivaji..the list is endless here too..!! But instead of reviving and re-establishing our legacy and heritage the greedy/escapist/intellectual-pygmies and mafia infested film industry called bollywood/tollywood/kollywood/lollywood(and what not wood!!) is just shamelessly busy peddling cheap thrills like hero-villain, hero-heroine, item-songs, dancing-around-trees, sugar-coated copycat NRI-stories and childish imitations of superheroes..!! SHAME!! A VERY BIG SHAME UPON INDIAN CINEMA!! For not exploring and emphasising upon the core values of India Bhaaratavarsha through its history. Americans/Chinese know the soft, rather hard, power of cinema and inculcate their own version of history with wisdom through it while we are happy to gyrate to pelvic thrusts of rehabilitated porn-'stars'.
